Placing a Head of Product for Receipt Bank's AI team

Receipt Bank, a multi-award-winning FinTech once named the UK's 7th fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte Fast 50, was hiring a Head of Product for its AI team. The role had been open for some time.

It was a specialist role with a demanding brief. The successful candidate needed prior experience as an AI Product Manager, a strong degree and an MBA, and an inquisitive nature. The budget was fixed, so the right person had to meet every criterion within it.

Consortia ran a 360 approach to the search, taking the time to source candidates who matched the full brief rather than the available budget alone.

Communication was kept consistent throughout, including follow-up after the placement. The process ran across two stages: an initial phone interview followed by a face-to-face with the Chief Product Officer. Consortia put forward four high-calibre candidates and, upholding a 2:1 shortlist-to-interview ratio, two progressed to interview; one came in over budget and the other was successfully placed.

The successful candidate joined Receipt Bank as Head of Product in October 2018 and proved a highly successful placement, helping to shape and refine the product trajectory in line with the company's vision. The Chief Product Officer agreed to work with Consortia again on future requirements.
