FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What’s it actually like working at Consortia?

Consortia is a sales focused recruitment business, but relationships matter just as much. Consultants build specialist networks, learn their market and manage their own desks.

The culture suits people who like independence and responsibility. You’re expected to know your market, speak honestly with clients and treat candidates well throughout the process.

Do I need recruitment experience to join Consortia?

Not always. Recruitment experience can help, but market knowledge, confidence and people skills matter too.

Consortia works across Product, UX and Design, Engineering, Data and AI. That means curiosity matters. You’ll need to learn your area properly and become someone clients and candidates trust.

Is there flexible or remote working at Consortia?

Consortia uses a mix of office and remote working. Exact arrangements can vary between teams and locations.

The best way to understand the setup for a specific role or location is to send a message to careers@consortia.com specifying which country and role you are enquiring about

What can I expect from career progression at Consortia?

The usual route is Consultant, Senior, Principal, Leadership, then Director.

Each step brings more ownership. You start by building sourcing and client skills. From there, the focus moves towards growing accounts and getting more from client relationships.

Leadership is optional. If that route suits you, you can move into team management, then lead your own team.

At Director level, you take wider responsibility for strategy, people and profit.

What makes Consortia different from other recruitment firms?

Consortia is built around collaboration, autonomy and specialist recruitment rather than internal competition or heavy micromanagement.

You’re trusted to take ownership of your desk, supported by a team that shares knowledge and works together. We’re also building around an AI-first model, using Consortias own and other tools to reduce repetitive admin and give recruiters more time to focus on relationships and successful outcomes.

It suits people who like independence, teamwork and being part of a more modern recruitment business.
